Now THAT was a bizarre day. I was expecting to be writing tonight about Specsavers, as today was the day I got my glasses, but nope. Today goes to UNDER THE IRON SEA.

Got up, got to school, and discussed Sport Relief, charity and heavy periods with Mrs Tanner. Yes, heavy periods. As in female, 28-day cycles. The weirdest experience with her ever. And there have been some weird conversations.

Rushed to the opticians, and got my eyes sorted, and walked out and thought 'This is weird.' I can see the frams and the bottom of the lenses, and it felt a bit like Peep Show, but I got used to them.

Then a long day in school, with some lunch with Isobel and a good Business lesson this afternoon. Topped off with the Head Girl vote today which has led to many unnecessary, petty and stupid arguments throughout the whole of Year 12. God help us when its down at HBS.

So Adam, bless him, needed to relax a bit when he got in. A couple of phone calls later, and everything seemed alright, and everyone was smiling and happy. So what did Adam do? He whacked on his favourite album of all time, UNDER THE IRON SEA. (I've decided I don't like referring to myself in the third person)

Not only a beautiful concept, cover and idea, but also one of the best mixes of music I've ever heard. It couldn't suit the band better. Ballads to up-tempo pop-rock in the space of 10 minutes. Such a clever album. Those of you who can remember far enough back will know that the title track featured on my Top 50 songs - but the album is number 1 every time. Only a couple of albums come close - Beyonce's second album, Corinne Bailey Rae's first album, Jack Johnson's third, Madonna'S God-knows-what, and Melody Gardot's second. All worth a listen if you get the chance.

But this album doesn't put a foot wrong. Bar Broken Toy, every song is incredible. That song was just a bit of a let down, but every song has to have a poor song. And I say its poor - but in reality, its still a very good track.

UNDER THE IRON SEA, you are the Day Dedicatee for Wednesday 10th March 2010.
