Sunday 28th February 2010 - The Morning After The Night Before

Not so much in the alcohol sense, but in the way you wake up and realise what happened last night. Today goes to THE MORNING AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE.

Last night was Gaga, and it was brilliant. But waking up this morning, realised just how good last night was, was a bizarre feeling. How weird was last night?!

We went with Gaga in a taxi, which broke down, so we all got the subway, but that broke down too. As we all got outside, we were sucked into a twister, dumping us into an evil enchated forest in the middle of Central Park. From here, we managed to find the monster ball, but only after killing a massive octopus-like creature. Then we went home. Weird huh?

Anyway, a good weekend. THE MORNING AFTER THE NIGHT BEFORE, you are the Day Dedicatee for Sunday 28th February 2010.

There isn't a lot I can write that hasn't been already. She puts on an incredible show, and it was one of the best nights of my life. Everyone I have spoken to about the show - no matter where in the world they are - have loved it. She is just amazing.

She did a bit of new stuff - and loads of the old stuff. And I have never seen 27,000 people swaying their arms, and then 10 seconds later, jumping up and down. Thats how to put on a show.

Today goes to STRESS. This week has been seriously tough, I'm run down and thats why I've caught whatever this thing is. Its not the nicest thing in the world, but as long as it all clears up in the end, even better.

Yeah I probably have taken on more than I should have done, and yeah, I'm struggling a bit lately, but thats mainly because of negative input. If people all went along with what we've all agreed, then amazing. If they don't, there is suddenly something that has to be fixed, and thats where the stress builds. And thats just school.

I was invested at Explorers. With no voice. And it was debating night. Not a good idea. Grrr.

So hey ho! WRONG CHOICES, you are teh Day Dedicatee for Thursday 25th February 2010.

Bar the fact my watch has broken, I've lost my voice, and my eczema is awful, but hey, we'll gloss over them and have a good night! The beer has been flowing, and I can smell curry, so the night looks young!

Tuesday 23rd February 2010 - Saturday Night Peter

I was very tempted to do Peter Kay tonight, but have decided to keep him, just in case we get the tickets! So tonight goes to SATURDAY NIGHT PETER.

For those of you who don't know, this is Peter's second autobiography, and is probably one of the funniest books I've ever read. It was proper laugh-out-loud funny - and Mum and I have both said the same about the same bits. Its one of those books that is a total crossover-comedy read.

A classic in future years is this. Especially his Jacko joke. Oh, and the biscuit scene. Brilliant.

There is now some humour on the panel, and someone who actually doesn't care what she says, but does it constructively.

She also happens to be married to a very beautiful woman - Portia de Rossi. Plus she's amazingly funny, so everything has its bonuses.

Today, they lost. Again. They're 8 points from safety, and that could be 17 by the end of next week. They're in deep financial trouble, and could go into administration by the end of the week.

After having four owners, and being on the verge of a fifth, they have over £60m of debt, and players, managers and owners are still suing them. Its a joke.

A club that won the FA Cup last year, they have been hit hard by debt, and the last year has been spent selling the team that took them to Wembley. Today could have been their last game at Fratton Park, as to stay in business, they may very well have to sell the stadium.

If only someone like Richard Branson comes in, pays off the debt and turns them around. Or Alan Sugar, who could just make a return into football to save a club. Whoever comes in will be a saviour, and a hero of the south coast.

Thats if anyone does. I hope they do. Play up Pompey.

Her name is k.d. lang - and for the first time since early November, I am not using capitals to distinguish who won today. k.d. prefers her name to always appear in lwoercase letters, so, I'll give it a go.

She shot BACK into the public spotlight thanks to last week's Olympic Opening Ceremony, and many believe her performance of 'Hallelujah' to be the best ever performed. I mean, how many artists have to perform an encore at a ceremony like the one in Vancouver?! She's released the eprformance as a single, adn it's in the UK iTunes Top 100 - not to mention the US.

So after falling in love with ehr voice last week, I did some Spotify-ing, and realised that actually, she's great at everything she's performed. k.d. is normally a pop-country singer, but she is massive in the US, Canada and Australia, and now gaining a growing number of fans here in the UK.

If you've never heard of her before, just YouTube her 'Hallelujah' performance, and do what half the world did and realise that this woman is extremely talented. Even Leonard Cohen's parents think this is the definitive version of teh song. And he wrote it!

First up was Moorfields Eye Hospital, which was in with a good shout. Somewhere, as Dad put it, can give the gift of sight back to someone - the ultimate gift. I could see where he was coming from, but if you were in need of a kidney or something? Anyway, I will move on...

Starbucks! Still hasn't got it (to my knowledge - correct me if I'm wrong...), and if SB's couldn't have it, then their cinnamon swirls with the best lemon icing in the world could have got it, or even a caramel macchiato, which is enough to warm you up on a cold day.

Or actually, today, the London weather?! A beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky - led to some great pictrues, and as we left the city, the place was slowly watching the sun sink below its foundations. A brilliant sight.

MJ could have got today - if he hasn't had it already. Mainly because of today's winner. Ladies and gentlemen, today goes to the O2 ARENA.

The picture shows what is known as the O2, with the arena actually being inside there, which is a great idea. All dreamed up to replace a massive white elephant that was the Millenium Dome, it has seen the biggest names in the music industry grace its stage - notably MJ, who never actually did step foot on the stage to perform.

What I didn't realise, however, is that enarly a third of the space in the O2 isn't actually used. It has been put aside for what is known as 'Phase II' - if London had won the super-casino license, it would have been built here, alonside a massive hotel WITHIN the complex. A massive feat for something that was over-budget, over-advertised and over-ambitious when built 10 years ago.

I'll have been here 3 times in 3 weeks come the beginning of March - today, the 27th for Lady Gaga, and the 3rd of March for the British Music Experience. All very exciting.

We came today for the MJ exhibition, which I have to say was truly outstanding. I would have liked to see a bit more of the 'This Is It' tour stuff - but what they did have was actually quite eery - knowing that it was all ready and the whole show was only missing one element was kinda creepy.

Anyway, today goes to the O2 ARENA.

You see, in 100 years time, thats what actually could happen. We find life on another planet, so we raid it for all its worth. But the film showed this in such an incredible light. Yes, it was 2 hours 40, and yes, it was MILES too long, but as Will said, there was no way you could take anything out of that.

3D shows how good that film is. Sigourney Weaver was brilliant - better than Alien, I would say. Shes just a class actress. I'm glad my £7 went towards the $2.1b the film ahs grossed, and I'm glad I've seen that film.

Everyone has been wetting themselves over Glee - yes its good, and yes, I watch it each week, but I don't want to hear about it 24/7 from newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and friends! An older version of High School Musical crossed with the wit of Ugly Betty and the humour of Scrubs, and you have Glee.

I'm sure most of you have seen the programme, and will know what goes on and how it works. I reckon 50% of you will agree that Glee has become a whirlwind of media hypocrisy, and isn't actually as good as it sounds. It could, could, be a lot better, and I know thats me sticking my neck on the line, but seriously, it could.

To start with, Rachael has the most annoying face. It would look so much better with a fist in it. Quin's voice is like a silent but deadly fart - you can't hear it, but when it eventually hits you, you run for your life. And this dragging story of her pregnancy, and Terri being a nutter, is getting on my tits. If Glee is about having fun, and singing songs, then show the battle between Sue and Will more! Show the kids singing more songs, and show them getting to regionals - don't drag it over 13 hours of my life!

Anywway, if this is your first chance of hearing about Glee. Watch it. Seriously, it is good. But its one of those programmes that gets under your skin, and aggrevates you until you go out of your mind!

At over £4,000, it was a massive investment, but in midnight blue, it was beautiful. Shoes, jeans, jackets, dresses. You name it, he designed it. He's been around for years, and to pass away at just 40 makes the situation even worse.

What a brilliant invention. Their only difference between a normal pad is the fact that they were the first to introduce dividers in their books. They can charge extortionate prices for a notebook - some are about £7 - and the paper is good quality, but they caught the market just when it arrived. For those of you who don't know why this album is quite poignant, it is because Corinne's husband died of a drug overdose in 2008. But through that, she found the inspiration for this album. Going back to Frank Gardner, she has courage that I don't think I'd have. If I had to write a song about a lost love on, it would rip me to shreds every time I sang it.

There is a song though that just game me goosebumps, and still does now I've heard it and listened into what she's saying. It is called, funnily enough, 'The Sea', and closes the album. It has a moment after about three minutes where there is a slight break, and a key change, and the roar of the strings just make me realise that actually, not everything in the world is as bad as it seems. Things really can get better, and all it takes is a bit of fixing, thinking and sorting to make it all worthwhile.

So if you get the chance, just listen to that one track. I'm so glad I did - really did make my day.

But then, this morning, we had aman called Paul Harris come in and take assembly. He started, and I thought 'here we go...', but by the end, I felt inspired. Probably because of what it was about, but it really hit it home for me.

He started to talk to us at depth about what he thought - he is a Christian leader, but his religion didn't come across at all. He discussed Haiti, and world poverty, and then came up with this little gem.

'The world is waiting for a generation to change'

He is so right. All this globe needs is a generation of people who are willing to give, and do what it takes to ensure eternal happiness on Earth. And yes, everyone will be sad at some point, but in terms of a global scale. So to do this, we solve world poverty, we find cures for AIDS and cancer - two of the biggest killers in the world, and we enable the poorest countries in the world to fend for themselves.

All we have to do, is simply make a difference. If every person who isn't in poverty on the planet, we'd have £3billion at the disposal of the charities and aid companies. All it takes is for people to give up a little of what they have, and the world will become such a better place.

You see, Frank is the BBC Security Correspondent. He has a fond love of travel, and to be given the chance to travel across the globe mixing two of his favourite things is the best thing in the world for him. But in 2004, Frank was shot 6 times by Al-Qaeda. His cameraman died. He was left bleeding to death in the middle of a road - even though he was shouting for help in Arabic.

After 7 very long months, and a period of depression, Frank finally came to the understanding that he would never be able to walk again.

6 years later though, and Frank is back in the Middle East reporting, he is skiing using a bob-ski, he is trekking through jungles, and is able to stand for periods of time on a frame.

This man just shows the courage we should all have in life.
